Hawzah News Agency- Qassem affirmed that "the Islamic Resistance was able to prevent Israel from achieving its objectives in its aggression against Lebanon and stood as a barrier against the Israeli invasion." He pointed out that the legendary steadfastness of the resistance fighters halted 75,000 Israeli soldiers, preventing them from advancing more than a few hundred meters.
He emphasized that "Israel did not withdraw from Lebanon through negotiations or politics, but rather withdrew unconditionally due to the resistance. From 2000 to 2023, there was deterrence because of the resistance and the golden equation, and we prevented Israel from its expansionist project''.
He added, "In the Battle of 'Uli al-Ba's' (the Battle of the Mighty), we made great sacrifices and prevented Israel from achieving its goals, standing as a barrier against the Israeli invasion''.
He continued: “The ceasefire agreement was reached on November 27, 2024, stipulating the enemy's withdrawal from south of the Litani River and the deployment of the army. For us, the agreement included an acceptable price: the deployment of the army, who are our people and our countrymen. The resistance has borne this responsibility for 42 years, and the government said it would assume responsibility this time. We paved the way for them, and we support anyone who wants to defend this nation''.
He added, “Israel lost because it did not achieve its objectives against the enemy. According to the agreement, it must withdraw from southern Lebanon''. He emphasized that the enemy has not adhered to the agreement because Lebanon is regaining its sovereignty. A year has passed, and the enemy continues its violations and attacks without response, claiming that Lebanon is not abiding by the agreement. The enemy wants to interfere in Lebanon's future''.
He stated, “America and Israel are interfering in Lebanon's future. They want to eliminate Lebanon's resistance capabilities and arm the army only to confront the resistance, not the Israeli enemy. America and Israel believe the agreement gives Lebanon gains, and that if Israel withdraws from Lebanon, it will regain its sovereignty. Therefore, they are pressuring the government''.
He asserted that "Israel wants to control Lebanon politically and economically, and wants Lebanon as a backyard for expanding settlements within a Greater Israel." He expressed regret that the government saw nothing in the ministerial statement except the disarmament of the resistance, but added, "Today, disarmament is no longer the problem; rather, the pretext has become building capabilities and securing funds. Then they claim the problem lies in the very existence of the resistance, and these pretexts will never end''.
He pointed out that "Israel kills civilians in their homes, destroys houses, bulldozes land, prevents residents from returning to their homes, and deprives villages of life. The UNIFIL spokesperson says that 'Israel has committed more than 7,000 violations,' while Hezbollah has not recorded any violations in its area of operations. And yet some claim the problem is in Lebanon, when the problem is in Israel''.
