Hawzah News Agency- US federal and local law enforcement officials raided the homes of pro-Palestine activists linked to the University of Michigan early Wednesday, according to a union group.
Several individuals were detained and questioned, and electronic devices and personal belongings were confiscated. The FBI, Michigan State Police and local police departments conducted the raids in Ann Arbor, Ypsilanti and Canton, reportedly at the request of Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel.
the Graduate Employees' Organization (GEO) announced that law enforcement officials were hesitant to issue search warrants or explain the reasons for these raids and also the group added that no injured were reported.
"We strongly condemn the actions taken today and all past and present repression of political activism'', said the group, as it demanded accountability from university officials and the attorney general.
