"Resistance, Science, Unity: The Trinity of Imam Khamenei's Legacy"

The intellectual legacy of Iran's martyred Leader is manifested in the culture of resistance, in the spirit of independence-seeking and anti-arrogance, in a faith in the people rooted in the monotheistic worldview, and in the nurturing of a generation that is devout, aware, and courageous.

Hawzah News Agency- These days and nights, proud Iranians participating in the various ceremonies to bid farewell to the pure body of their martyred Imam and Leader are experiencing a profound and extraordinary sentiment. They are in mourning, yet it is a grief from which an epic—intertwined with a thirst for justice—is being broadcast to the world.

The reality is that Martyr Grand Ayatollah Imam Seyyed Ali Khamenei was a personality who, despite the hardships, taunts, and reproaches he endured and witnessed, did not abandon his divine and faith-bound duty for even a single moment. He remained utterly faithful to his ideals—the manifestation of servitude to the Almighty Creator and service to His creation—until he ultimately laid down his life for his creed, drinking the nectar of martyrdom alongside a group of his dear companions at the hands of the most wretched enemies of the land of Iran.

Accordingly, while the martyrdom of Imam Khamenei has left an immense void and profound sorrow for the Iranian nation and the Islamic Ummah, it must be well understood that history does not remember great leaders solely by the years of their rule. Rather, history recognizes them through their thought and ideas, their ideals, their culture, and the human beings they have cultivated.

The Defining Pillars of Imam Khamenei's Intellectual School

It is not without reason that it is said the greatest legacy bequeathed by the great leaders and towering figures of history is not to be found in edifices, structures, or material frameworks, but primarily in their "intellectual school." In this regard, the legacy of our martyred Leader is enshrined in the culture of resistance, the spirit of independence and anti-arrogance, a trust in the people stemming from a monotheistic framework, a profound spirituality, and the nurturing of a devout, aware, and courageous generation—ready and eager to continue this path and reach the summits that lie ahead.

Scientific Authority: The Engine of Progress

Zainab Safaei, a writer and researcher in the humanities, elaborated on this notion: "Within the intellectual and practical framework of the martyred Leader of the Revolution—which can rightly be described as a 'school'—a firm bond exists between religious commitment, scientific rationality, and political prudence. It must be noted that this school is not merely a collection of ideological stances; it is a strategic roadmap for the elevation of a civilization confronting modern challenges and the complexities of today's world."

She added: "Undoubtedly, one of the most brilliant achievements of this school has been the macro-level steering and orientation of the Islamic Republic's policies towards scientific growth based on indigenization and self-sufficiency. Imam Khamenei, himself a scholar, researcher, and literary figure, consistently emphasized science as the sole path to the salvation of nations in the modern world, explicitly stating that the country's scientific authority is our engine of propulsion on the path of growth and progress."

Pointing to Iran's staggering growth in strategic sciences over recent decades, she stated: "Truly, over the past decades, we have witnessed unprecedented leaps in critical fields—from becoming regional hubs in nuclear medicine and nanotechnology to the astonishing development of defense industries and self-sufficiency in complex systems. This growth is the result of a national resolve anchored in the vision of the Revolution's martyred Leader, who considered the devaluation of science to be a colonial conspiracy."

The Imperative of Preserving and Strengthening National Independence

The journalist further noted: "The formulation of the 'Dignity, Wisdom, and Expediency' strategy in foreign policy, alongside the strengthening of military deterrence, was not merely for defense but aimed at preserving decision-making independence in today's multipolar world, ensuring that our nation, while remaining independent, moves toward greater dignity and self-sufficiency and becomes a model in the contemporary world."

She added: "The focal point of the stances and slogans of this school is the continuous emphasis on 'unity.' In the conduct and illuminating words of the martyred Leader, avoiding any form of social or political polarization is a fundamental principle that enables the realization of maximum inclusion. Furthermore, the emphasis on the unified identity of Islamic Iran and respect for all ethnicities, faiths, and strata of society forms the main pillar of a cohesive Iran. In his view, any form of division is tantamount to weakening the system in the face of foreign adversaries and must be avoided."

Religious Rationality in the Shadow of National Unity and Cohesion

Safaei also stated: "The intellectual and ideological school of the martyred Khamenei has proven that by relying on religious rationality, national will, and unity of purpose, one can stand firm against the most complex international equations and even accelerate the nation's train of growth and progress. Preserving and developing these invaluable achievements requires a deep understanding of this school and the implementation of its unity-oriented, science-driven, and justice-seeking spirit by the new generation. For, according to the guidelines of our martyred Imam and Leader, the future of a strong Iran hinges on the continuation of this path and the safeguarding of this very legacy."

Emphasis on Preserving Iranian and Islamic Identity

Dr. Mehdi Eslami, a faculty member at the Imam Sadiq (AS) Research Institute, also commented: "The intellectual legacy of the martyred Leader is a vast collection of theories, approaches, and perspectives shaped across various political, social, religious, and international domains. This legacy typically manifests itself in the form of speeches, articles, books, policymaking, and managerial directives."

He underscored: "Among the key components of his intellectual legacy for the Iranian nation, the issue of identity must be highlighted—that policies and programs in the country must focus on preserving and strengthening our Iranian and Islamic identity, for our national dignity is tied to this very crucial matter."

The university professor added: "On the other hand, as has been repeatedly stated, one of the main pillars of the martyred Leader's intellectual legacy is the promotion of the 'culture of resistance.' This concept encompasses resilience against economic sanctions, self-sufficiency in strategic industries, and non-surrender to enemy pressure on various fronts. This freedom, independence, and quest for liberation in the face of foreigners is, of course, rooted in the intellectual foundations of the late Imam Khomeini (RA), a current that the martyred Imam Khamenei masterfully sustained and advanced."

Relentless Efforts to Strengthen Islamic Ummah Unity

He stated: "At the level of the Islamic world, his perspectives transcended Iran's geographical borders and focused on fundamental concepts such as preserving and strengthening Muslim unity and cohesion in the face of the enemy, and maintaining constant vigilance against the seditions and conspiracies of the enemies of Islam."

The university lecturer noted: "In the intellectual school of our martyred Imam and Leader, confronting the system of domination is only possible when Muslims stand united and intelligently counter the currents of unbelief and tyranny. He repeatedly stressed that the Islamic world must distance itself from international systems dominated by hegemonic powers and seek to establish a new order founded on justice. It was on this very basis that he consistently emphasized the necessity of supporting the Palestinian cause and prioritizing the issue of Holy Al-Quds."
