A member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries of Iran highlighted that artificial intelligence is known as one of the main pillars of the power and superiority of societies, and stated,” Today, one of the important duties of preachers is to identify and analyze important issues regarding artificial intelligence. This is a religious duty that is the responsibility of scholars.”

Hawzah News Agency- Member of the Supreme Council of Seminaries Ayatollah Mohsen Araki emphasized the role of artificial intelligence in the development of Islamic societies and the necessity of examining the jurisprudential, ethical, and legal issues regarding this technology, and called for training and specialization in this field.

The member of the Presidium of Iran’s Assembly of Leadership Experts, citing the verse of the Quran, "And you are the most superior if you are believers," noted the necessity of authority in all fields and stated,” Faith is a condition for superiority for human beings, and this superiority is reflected in science, economy, and technology. Today, artificial intelligence is recognized as one of the main pillars of the development and superiority of societies and can play an effective role in the military, scientific, and cultural fields.”

The duty of missionaries and seminaries

Ayatollah Araki further considered the role of seminaries to be vital in acquiring science and technology, and said that today, one of the top duties of Muslim missionaries is to identify and analyze important issues regarding artificial intelligence. This is a religious duty that is the responsibility of religious scholars. Questioning and scientific endeavor are the fundamental principles in Shiite Islam, and missionaries should observe divine boundaries with piety and ijtihad, while at the same time engaging in innovation and creativity in the seminaries.

Artificial Intelligence is a Defining Factor in the Progress of Islamic Societies

A member of the Supreme Council of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran also considered artificial intelligence to be a determining factor in the progress of Islamic societies, and emphasized,” Technology can pave the way for development in various fields.”

Emphasizing the training and in-depth analysis of artificial intelligence in the seminaries, Ayatollah Araki introduced this issue as one of the main pillars of the authority and superiority of Islamic societies, and highlighted the attention of missionaries to identifying issues regarding artificial intelligence and examining them thoroughly from a jurisprudential and ethical perspective.
