Hawzah News Agency- In a message issued on the occasion of Student’s Day in Iran, Mrs. Burqai congratulated the academic community—particularly the women scholars and learners of the Islamic homeland—on a day that she described as “a reminder of insight, scientific struggle, and steadfastness against injustice and dependency.”
Emphasizing the broader mission of higher education, she remarked that entering the university is not merely a pursuit of modern knowledge, but “a frontline in self-development, identity-building, and the advancement of Islamic civilization through the wise use of national and religious capital.” She said that this mission empowers students to achieve self-confidence and to resist the pressures of cultural and scientific dominance imposed by the West.
Drawing on the guidance of the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, who has repeatedly described universities as the cradle of thought production and the driving force of national progress, Mrs. Burqai highlighted the responsibility placed on the student community. “Students must be alive, awakened, demanding, and hopeful,” she quoted. “Only through scientific ethics, commitment, justice, and tireless effort can the academic body elevate Islamic Iran to its rightful position.”
She noted that today’s challenges require a new generation of youth—faithful, wise, confident, and possessing a revolutionary spirit—who, through a synthesis of science and spirituality, can untie the scientific, cultural, and economic knots facing society and open new avenues of progress and civilization-building.
Urging students to embrace their authentic identity, Mrs. Burqai stated that young people must not “mirror themselves in the culture of others,” but instead engage critically and selectively with global knowledge, placing technology and innovation at the service of national dignity and the preservation of Islamic values.
The Director also pointed to the importance of the longstanding relationship between the seminary and the university. She said Jamiat Al-Zahra Seminary (PBUH) is proud to stand alongside academic institutions, believing that deepened intellectual cooperation between these two pillars will make the country’s future “more resilient, more luminous, and firmly rooted in Islamic wisdom.”
Addressing students directly, she outlined a set of expectations:
- To be pioneers in scientific fields,
- To embody ethics and spirituality,
- To remain honest and fair in social demands and responsibilities,
- And to act as beacons of hope within society.
“With the blessings of your sincere efforts,” she concluded, “we pray to witness the growing excellence of Iran on the path of progress, justice, and independence.”
