Hawzah News Agency- a significant international conference organized by the Baqi Movement in Chicago, USA, was held on the occasion of Imam Hasan al-Mujtaba's (PBUH) martyrdom anniversary, attended by scholars from various countries, who discussed the oppression of Imam Hasan (PBUH) and Al-Baqi’.
In his opening speech, Hujjat al-Islam Mehdi al-Najafi, the head of the organization for the Baqi Movement, extended his condolences to the global Muslim community on the occasion of Imam Hasan’s (PBUH) martyrdom anniversary and stated, "Just as Imam Hussain (PBUH) is the inheritor of the prophets, Imam Hasan (PBUH) is also the inheritor of the prophets. Thanks to several active television networks, the Baqi Movement has reached every household.
“One of the reasons for the worldwide support of this movement is the ongoing series of conferences like this one,” he underscored
Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Kalba Abbas from the USA said, "It is our duty to continually raise our voices on this issue and spread the hashtag 'Jannat al-Baqi’. Only then will we achieve better results in addressing this matter."
Hujjat al-Islam Qari Ahmad Hasan from Amroha, India, remarked, "The Qur'an commands all Muslims to love the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH). It is a reality that when you love them, you will also love their graves. How is it just that the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) were persecuted even before their martyrdom by burning their homes, and after their martyrdom by the destruction of their tombs?"
Hujjat al-Islam Sayyid Zamin Jafri Najafi, the representative of Ayatollah Sheikh Basheer Najafi from Najaf, stated, "The movement to rebuild Jannat al-Baqi’ should not be viewed through the lens of Shia or Sunni. The call for the reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi’ is the right of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) and is a matter relevant to all Muslims, not just Shias. All Muslims believe that 10,000 companions of the Prophet (PBUH) are buried in Jannat al-Baqi’, so this movement is not exclusive to the Shia community."
HUjjat al-Islam Sayyed Zulfaqar Mehdi, the Friday Imam of Mumbai, stated, "Today, millions of pilgrims visit the shrine of Imam Hussain (PBUH) in Karbala whereas the grave of Imam Hasan (PBUH) remains empty. With tearful eyes, we declare that Imam Hasan (PBUH) was oppressed both before and after his martyrdom. We must raise our voices until this cry reaches the ears of the Saudi regime."
At the end of the conference, Hujjat al-Islam Ali Abbas Wafa, the head of the SNN Channel, expressed his gratitude to all the scholars who participated in the event.
