Mourning ceremonies for Imam Hussein (peace be upon him) and martyrs of Karbala were held in African countries of Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania.

Hawzah News Agency- Shiites and lovers of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, in the West African region, with the beginning of the month of Muharram, as with other countries of the world, mourned for Aba Abdullah al-Hussein (peace be upon him) in various cities and villages of Senegal, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau and Mauritania.

The Shiite Muslims attended in dozens of gatherings and funeral processions in the cities of Dakar, Kolakh, Zigneshor, Fatik, Kelda and Thies in Senegal, and the cities of Banjul and Serikanda in the Gambia and Nouakchott, the capital of Mauritania, as well as the cities of Bissau and Bafta in Guinea. In addition to reciting the Holy Quran, reciting poems, and lamenting, the people enjoyed the sermons of local and international missionaries regarding the goals and achievements of the eternal Ashura movement.

Also, many media programs are performed through local radios and social networking groups during these days and nights in Muharram.
