Hawzah News Agency- Masumeh Seyfi Konari the professor of women's seminary, in an interview with the Hawzah News Agency, stated, “One of the fundamental principles of the Holy Quran is that disbelievers have no right to dominate or subjugate believers under any circumstances. For this reason, the Holy Quran states as a rule and principle in Surah Al-Nisa, verse 41: And Allah will never provide the faithless any way [to prevail] over the faithful.”
“Not participating in elections, not casting a vote, and shirking this responsibility will undoubtedly pave the way for the domination of the disbelievers and the arrogant,” She noted
The professor of women's seminary in Qom emphasized the importance of participating in elections as a good deed, citing verse 2 of Surah Al-Ma'idah in the Quran, which states: Cooperate in piety and Godwariness, but do not cooperate in sin and aggression, and be wary of Allah. Indeed Allah is severe in retribution.
Seyfi Konari added, "By participating in elections, people perform a good deed and God-pleasing act. And according to God's promise in this verse, God will surely help them choose the best candidate."
Pointing out that the best way to recognize the most suitable person is referring to the words of the fourteen Infallibles, particularly Imam Ali (PBUH), she stressed that by delving into Nahj al-Balaghah, the section of letters, we can get familiar with the characteristics of an exemplary leader.
Seyfi Konari said that simple life and not accumulating wealth is one of the characteristics of the most suitable person, adding, “Imam, peace be upon him, says in the letter 45 of Nahj al-Balaghah: Realize that your Imam is satisfied with two shabby pieces of cloth out of the comforts of the word and two pieces of bread for his meal.
“Dealing firmly with relatives who are economically corrupt is another characteristic of the most suitable person and Imam Ali (PBUH) says in the letter 41 of Nahj al-Balaghah: By Allah, even if Hasan and Hussain (PBUT) had one what you did, there would have been no leniency for them.” She further noted.
“Not retreating before the adversaries is also another characteristic of the most suitable person and Imam Ali (PBUH) says in the letter 38 of Nahj al-Balaghah: He does not shrink from the enemy at critical moments,” The professor of women's seminary underscored.
