Hawzah News Agency- Qom, Iran – Units of the Islamic Republic of Iran’s Army successfully intercepted and neutralized multiple Zionist drones targeting strategic areas near the holy city of Qom, according to Morteza Heydari, Deputy Political and Security Officer of the Qom Governorate and spokesperson for the Provincial Crisis Management Headquarters.
Speaking to Hawzah News Agency, Heydari reported that the attempted attacks occurred in recent hours, but thanks to the vigilance and rapid response of Iranian defense forces, the drones were destroyed before reaching their intended targets.
“The enemy drones were attempting to strike the defense systems of the holy shrine of Hazrat Fatima Masoumeh (PBUH),” Heydari stated. “Our armed forces responded swiftly and precisely, ensuring the threat was neutralized without any human casualties or major damage.”
He noted that only one launcher suffered minor damage during the defense operation, which was promptly repaired. He also categorically denied rumors circulating on social media about damage to the Maarif Radio transmitter or nearby facilities, assuring that all personnel are safe and that no such incidents occurred.
Heydari emphasized that official updates will continue to be shared with the public in a timely and transparent manner. “We urge the honorable people of Iran to remain calm and confident,” he said. “Their sons in the army, IRGC, police, and other security institutions stand united, prepared, and proud in defending the sovereignty and dignity of the Islamic Republic.”
