Two Utterances That Invalidate Prayer

Hadith of the Day is a daily feature highlighting timeless sayings of the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) and the Ahlul-Bayt (pbut), offering insights into faith, ethics, and spirituality for contemporary life.

Hawzah News Agency- Shaykh al‑Saduq narrated that his father narrated from Sa'd ibn Abd Allah, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Isa, from Ahmad ibn Muhammad ibn Abi Nasr, from Tha'labah ibn Maymun, from Maysarah that from Imam Baqir (pbuh) said:

Two things by which people corrupt their prayer:

1.The man’s saying ‘Tabāraka ismuka wa taʿālā jadduka’ — which was uttered ignorantly by the jinn, and Allah merely quoted it from them;

2. And the man’s saying ‘Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah.'

Al-Khisal,Book 2,Chapter 59
