Salawat: The Reason Why Allah Chose Ibrahim as Khalil

Hawzah News Agency- Abdul Adhim Al-Hussaini narrated that he heard Imam AL-Askary (pbuh) said:

إِنَّمَا اتَّخَذَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلًا لِكَثْرَةِ صَلَاتِهِ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَهْلِ بَيْتِهِ صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْهِمْ.

Surely, Allah — Mighty and Majestic — took Abraham (Ibrahim pbuh) as His close friend (Khalil) because of his frequent sending of blessings (salawat) upon Muhammad and his family (pbut).
