Hawzah News Agency- The Emergence of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) has conditions and signs that are referred to as the grounds (conditions) of the emergence. The difference between the two is that the grounds have a real impact on the realization of the Emergence, in such a way that the Emergence of the Imam will occur when they are met, and without them there will be no Emergence, but the signs do not play a role in the occurrence of the Emergence, but are only signs by which one can understand the principle of the Emergence or its approach.
Considering the aforementioned difference, it can be clearly seen that the grounds and conditions are more important than the signs; Therefore, it is necessary to pay special attention to the grounds rather than looking for signs and try to realize them to the best of our ability. For this reason, we first explain the grounds and conditions of emergence.
Grounds of Emergence
Every phenomenon in the world comes into being when its conditions and grounds are met, and without the fulfillment of the grounds, there will be no possibility for any being to exist. Not every land is capable of growing seeds, and not every climate is suitable for the growth of every plant and vegetable. When a farmer can expect a good harvest from the land, he must have prepared the necessary conditions for raising the crop.
Accordingly, every revolution and social event also depends on its grounds and conditions. The uprising and global revolution of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), which is the greatest global movement, also follows this principle and will not occur without the fulfillment of its grounds and conditions.
The purpose of this statement is not to imagine that the matter of the uprising and rule of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) is exempt from the relations governing the world of creation, and that his noble reform movement will be completed through a miracle and without ordinary causes and factors. Rather, based on the teachings of the Holy Quran and the infallible Imams (Peace be upon them), the divine tradition is that the affairs of the world will be carried out through natural causes and ordinary factors.
Imam Sadiq (PBUH) says in this regard:
«أَبَی اَللَّهُ أَنْ یُجْرِیَ اَلْأَشْیَاءَ إِلاَّ بِأَسْبَابٍ.»
“Allah does not allow things to happen except through causes.” (Kafi, vol. 1, p. 183)
Of course, the above statement does not mean that there will be no unseen and heavenly assistance in the great uprising of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), rather in addition to divine assistance, the grounds, factors, and ordinary conditions must also be provided.
The most important areas of the uprising and global revolution of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) are four, each of which we will examine separately:
A. Plan and Program
It is clear that every uprising and reform movement needs two programs:
1. A comprehensive program to combat existing anomalies through the organization of forces.
2. A comprehensive law that is appropriate to all the needs of society that guarantees all individual and social rights in a just government system and outlines the growing movement of society to reach an ideal state.
The teachings of the Holy Quran and the Sunnah of the Infallible Imams (PBUT), which is pure Islam, are the best law and program at the disposal of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), and he will act based on this eternal divine charter. A book whose verses were revealed by the Almighty God, who is aware of all aspects of human life and his material and spiritual needs; therefore, his global revolution has an unparalleled support in terms of government program and law enforcement and cannot be compared to any other reform movement. The evidence for this claim is that today's world, after experiencing human laws, has acknowledged their weakness and imperfections and is gradually becoming ready to accept heavenly laws.
B: Leadership
In all uprisings, the need for a leader is considered one of the most basic necessities of the uprising, and the wider the uprising and its loftier goals, the more the need for a capable leader who is in line with those goals is felt.
In the path of the global struggle against oppression and the rule of justice and equality on earth, the existence of an enlightened, capable, and compassionate leader who enjoys correct and decisive management is the main and fundamental pillar of the revolution. Hazrat Mahdi (peace be upon him), who is the essence of the prophets and saints, is alive and present as the leader of the great uprising. He is the only leader who, due to his connection with the spiritual world, is fully aware of all existence and the relationships within it, and he is the wisest of the people of his time.
The Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said:
«أَلَا إِنَّهُ وَارِثُ کُلِّ عِلْمٍ وَ الْمُحِیطُ بِکُلِّ فَهْمٍ.»
Be aware! He (the Mahdi) is the heir to all knowledge and has mastery over all sciences. (Ghadir Sermon)
C. Companions
Another necessary condition for the realization of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi (PBUH) is the existence of worthy helpers to support the uprising and carry out the work of the global government. Obviously, when a global revolution occurs through heavenly leadership, it requires helpers commensurate with it, and it is not the case that everyone who claims to be a helper can participate in that cause.
D: General Readiness
At various points in the history of the infallible Imams (PBUH), it is observed that people were not prepared to make the best use of the presence of the Imam. At various times, they did not appreciate the grace of the infallible Imam and did not benefit from the flowing stream of his guidance as they should have. God Almighty hid the last proof of truth so that whenever there was general readiness to accept him, he would appear and provide everyone with the source of divine knowledge.
Therefore, general readiness is a key condition for the emergence of the promised Mahdi (PBUH), and through that, his reform movement will reach the desired result. The emergence will occur when everyone desires social justice, moral and psychological security, and spiritual growth and prosperity from the depths of their hearts.
It is obvious that the desire to understand the presence of the Imam will reach its peak when humanity, through experiencing various human governments and systems, reaches the truth that the only savior of the world from corruption and vice is the successor of God on earth, Imam Mahdi (PBUH), and the only plan that brings a pure and good life to humans is the divine laws; therefore, with all their might, they understand the need for the Imam and, following this understanding, they strive to prepare the grounds for his emergence and remove obstacles from his path, and it is at this time that relief and opening will arrive.
The Holy Prophet (PBUH) said:
«... حَتَّی لاَ یَجِدُ اَلرَّجُلُ مَلْجَأً یَلْجَأُ إِلَیْهِ مِنَ اَلظُّلْمِ، فَیَبْعَثُ اَللَّهُ رَجُلاً مِنْ عِتْرَتِی... .»
[A time will come] when a believing man finds no refuge to which he can turn from oppression; then [at that time], Allah will raise up a man from my family. (Ithbat al-Huda, vol. 5, p. 244)
