UN Rights Office calls on parties to make every effort to prevent Gaza ceasefire from being derailed

The UN Human Rights Office on Friday, referring to the intensification of Israeli attacks following the cease-fire announcement, called for comprehensive efforts to prevent the Gaza cease-fire from being broken

Hawzah News Agency- Spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Ravina Shamdasani referred to the Israeli regime's violations following the cease-fire announcement and said, “In the run-up to the cease-fire, we are witnessing heavy bombardments, including last night. We also know that the Ministry of Health in Gaza has reported that 81 Palestinians were killed on January 15 and 16 alone.”

The UN Office called on all parties to do everything possible to ensure the Gaza cease-fire agreement, which is at risk due to “heavy bombardments” and the killing of Palestinians, does not collapse.

Ravina Shamdasani stated, “We urge all parties involved in this conflict to do everything they can to prevent the cease-fire agreement from being derailed, to make every effort to implement the hard-won cease-fire agreement sincerely, and to move swiftly towards finalizing phases two and three of this agreement.”

It is worth noting that on Friday afternoon, Gaza’s Civil Defense reported in its latest update that the death toll in Gaza since the cease-fire announcement on Wednesday night has risen to 113.
