Archbishop Welby said the differences between Shia and Christian communities cannot prevent friendship and cooperation because there are many similarities between the two communities.

Hawzah News Agency – The British Archbishop of Canterbury has called on the Shia community to participate in religious dialogue around the world.
Justin Welby, the Archbishop of Canterbury, UK, thanked Ayatollah A'rafi for his congratulatory message on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ (PBUH) and the New Year.

He thanked Ayatollah A'rafi for congratulating him on the New Year and the birth of Jesus (pbuh) and called for increased cooperation with the Iranian seminary.

In this letter, the British Archbishop of Canterbury, wishing to reduce the pandemic tolls for the Iranian society, thanked Iran Seminary for its efforts to increase mutual cooperation.

Archbishop Welby said the differences between the Shia and Christian communities cannot prevent friendship and cooperation because there are many similarities between the two communities.

He also called on the Shia community to take part in religious talks around the world. It is worth mentioning that the Archbishop of Canterbury is the main leader of the Church of England and the spiritual leader of the Anglican Church.
