Hawzah News Agency –“A preacher can be a leader in the society, who has sincerity and has no motive other than divine satisfaction, spreading the teachings of the Quran and the Infallible Imams (AS) and the interests of the society, while audaciously stating the truths of the religion,” said Hoj. Ahmad Marvi.
According to him, knowing the audience, expressing content proportionate to the needs of society and the degree of audience understanding are among the necessities of religious preaching. “The content expressed must be well-documented, well-supported and reasoned. Preachers must seriously avoid presenting unreliable and baseless materials”.
A pulpit is a place for expressing strong, solid and rational arguments to respond logically to deviant doubts, and to strengthen the religious beliefs of the people, he noted.
“Unfortunately”, the chief custodian lamented, “Mashhad has distanced itself from its brilliant historical position in the training of orators, and to compensate we must plan for identification of talents and training capable preachers.”
Hoj. Marvi further noted that despite development of communication tools, pulpits are still an effective platform, and face-to-face promotion is one of the most effective types of religious publicity.
“People are experiencing problems and they have right grievances. The clerics, while expressing the problems, should also explain the situation and tell the people about the achievements, dignity, sovereignty and honors of Islamic Iran and sermons must inspire hope in the society,” Marvi added.
According to the chief custodian of Astan Quds Razavi, boosting awareness, insight and hope in society is the key to defeating enemy conspiracies.
