Hawzah News Agency –A conference titled "Imam Musa Sadr; The pioneer and architect of the culture and model of resistance" was held in Lebanon and it was emphasized that Imam Musa Sadr, called for efforts to increase the presence of Shiites in official positions based on the merits of individuals.
According to the Public Relations Department of the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the meeting held in person and online, was organized by the Lebanese Al-Ma’arif al-Hikmiya Institute and speeches were delivered by Iran’s Cultural Attaché in Lebanon, Abbas Khameyar, Hasan Qablan, member of the Amal movement’s political bureau, Jihad Saad, director of the Lebanese International Collection and Rima Fakhri, a member of Hezbollah’s political bureau.
Khameyar in his opening remarks said Imam Musa Sadr is one of the most prominent, successful and influential models in contemporary history. He was the founder of the Islamic resistance, which became a national heritage, a legacy that kept the memory of the martyrs of independence alive.
He added: Imam Musa Sadr was very capable figure in distinguishing friends from foes and acted unparalleled in creating national unity. His main task has always been to fight against the brutal Zionist regime. He was the creator of the slogan "Israel is absolute evil", The slogan was the basis for the formation of resistance against the occupier and opposition to the normalization of relations, and based on which the equations of deterrence against the Zionist regime were created.
Khameyar stated: Imam Musa Sadr, with the establishment of the Supreme Islamic Assembly of the Lebanese Shiites and activating the option of resistance against the occupation in southern Lebanon and the whole region, rushed to the aid of the oppressed and showed the way to fight for human principles, justice and right.
He concluded his speech by saying that Imam Musa Sadr’s approach in emphasizing peaceful coexistence and unity between tribes, religions and sects became one of the important and key dimensions of resistance.
Hassan Qablan, a member of the political bureau of the Lebanese Amal Movement, for his part said, interest in the aspirations, ideas and ways of Imam Sadr should not be limited to the resistance but also the rulers should follow the national, international and institutional stances taken by Imam Sadr. Social reformers should also follow his writings on social issues and the titles of the oppressed.
He added Imam Sadr created a resistance that had the depth of civilization and ideology and all his motivational content was inspired by the tragedy Karbala and the Ashura movement.
Jihad Saad, director of the International Center for the Collection of Lebanese Documents, said that
Imam Sadr was the first to write about economics and realized that the use of economics is used as a weapon against Muslims, and this is what is embodied today in the societies and countries of the resistance.
The last speaker of the program was Ms. Rima Fakhri, who spoke about the personal traits and characteristics of Imam Sadr and said he turned Lebanon into a resilient country.
Emphasizing that Imam Sadr had a unified view on the issue of resistance, she added Imam Musa Sadr not only paid attention to the military issue, but also took steps to face the economic and social deprivations, strengthening the spirit of religiosity in society.
Rima Fakhri added Imam Sadr also called for efforts to increase the presence of Shiites in official positions, not from a sectarian or religious perspective, but based on the merits of individuals and in the service of Lebanese society.
