Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief lauds Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa’s role in promoting Islamic unity

Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman, Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan, has praised the efforts of Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa for promoting unity within the Islamic Ummah and strengthening the intellectual and social role of religious institutions at a time of escalating challenges facing the Muslim world, particularly the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.

Hawzah News Agency- During a visit to the Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa complex in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman met with Hojatoleslam Syed Jawad Naqvi, Chairman of Tehreek-e-Bidari Ummat Mustafa in Pakistan. Touring the complex’s scientific, educational, and cultural centers, the Jamaat-e-Islami chief commended the institution’s sustained efforts in fostering intellectual awakening, social responsibility, and principled engagement with key regional and international issues confronting the Ummah.

Hojatoleslam Syed Jawad Naqvi provided a comprehensive briefing on the educational structure, research activities, intellectual programs, and long-term objectives of Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa, emphasizing its mission to integrate religious scholarship with social commitment and public awareness.

The two sides held extensive discussions on the religious, educational, and social challenges facing Pakistan, as well as the broader intellectual and moral crises confronting contemporary society. They underlined the critical role of religious leadership under the current sensitive conditions and stressed the need for closer coordination between religious and intellectual institutions to reinforce Islamic unity and counter cultural and ideological threats.

A significant part of the talks focused on the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza, the continuation of crimes and atrocities against the oppressed Palestinian people, and the collective responsibility of the Islamic world toward this ongoing tragedy. The participants expressed full solidarity with the Palestinian people and emphasized the need for a practical, conscious, and unified response by the Islamic Ummah to confront aggression and injustice.

Addressing students of Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman urged them to deepen their religious awareness, uphold ethical values, and remain actively engaged in social service. He stressed that contemporary scholars must go beyond academic learning by developing sensitivity to the suffering of the Ummah, courage in articulating the truth, and a strong sense of responsibility toward major causes, particularly the Gaza issue.

In his remarks, the Jamaat-e-Islami leader praised the efforts of Hojatoleslam Syed Jawad Naqvi in advancing Islamic unity, promoting joint religious cooperation, and strengthening the intellectual, educational, and national foundations of society. He described this approach as a clear and powerful message to the Muslim Ummah at a time of mounting regional and global challenges.

During the visit, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman and his accompanying delegation also toured various projects and facilities of Al-Urwah al-Wuthqa, including educational initiatives, the central library, Maktabat al-Kitab al-Mubin, the Al-Bayt al-Atiq Mosque, and the Umm al-Kitab Jamia for women. He described the complex as a comprehensive, dynamic, and influential center in the fields of knowledge, thought, and da‘wah, and expressed sincere appreciation for the efforts of all those involved in developing and sustaining the institution.
