Hawzah News Agency- A ceremony unveiling the book “Ghadir in the Quran from the Perspective of Sunni Interpretations” was held at the Seminary of the University of Najaf in Skardu, Baltistan, Pakistan, attended by scholars, professors, researchers, and cultural figures.

Authored by Hojatoleslam Muhammad Yaqub Bashoy, the book presents a Quranic analysis of the event of Ghadir and its reflection in Sunni exegesis. The Urdu translation was completed by Hojatoleslam Sheikh Muhammad Ali Towhidi, director of the University of Najaf in Pakistan and one of the country’s leading Urdu translators.

Originally written in Persian, the book has been translated into more than thirty world languages, including Arabic, English, French, and Spanish — a testament to its global scholarly appeal and the significance of its subject.

The work is structured around three key themes:

  1. Wilayat in the Quran – an analysis of the concept of wilayat based on Quranic and linguistic principles;
  2. Verses before Ghadir – exploring Quranic foundations that prepared the ground for the declaration of Wilayat;
  3. Verses after Ghadir – presenting divine confirmation of the Wilayat of Imam Ali (AS).

With a balanced, research-based approach, the author compares Shia and Sunni interpretations while steering clear of sectarian polemics. His work blends scholarly precision, seminary depth, and spiritual insight.

Participants described the publication as a valuable academic achievement that deepens understanding of Quranic teachings and strengthens intellectual and spiritual dialogue within the Islamic world.
