Ayatollah Kabi: Gaza Exposes Moral Collapse of Western Civilization

Qom, Iran — Ayatollah Abbas Kaabi, Vice President of the Qom Seminary Teachers’ Association, tells US-led hostility toward the Islamic Republic stems from fear of the establishment of “pure Muhammadan Islam” in governance and society, rather than concerns over Iran’s scientific or military capabilities.

Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the unveiling ceremony of the book Islam of Establishment at the Strategic Studies Center of the Qom Seminary and Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Kabi underscored the civilization-building capacity of Islam, describing religious sovereignty as the real source of anxiety for Washington, the Zionist regime, and their Western allies.

“What frightens the enemies is not a nuclear Iran,” he said. “It is the realization of a civilizational Islam—an independent, inspiring model that integrates faith, governance, and social life.”

Ayatollah Kabi paid tribute to the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, the Sacred Defense, and the Resistance Front, including Seyyed Hassan Nasrallah and Seyyed Hashem Safi al-Din, describing them as the living fruits of establishing Islam in pursuit of divine sovereignty.

He also praised the author of Islam of Establishment and officials at the Strategic Studies Center, calling the institution one of the major blessings of the Islamic Revolution.

West’s Fear of Religious Sovereignty

Citing the Quranic verse, “Great is that to which you invite the polytheists,” Ayatollah Kabi said Western powers have no objection to a strong but dependent and submissive Iran, but are deeply threatened by an Iran that is independent, influential, and capable of inspiring other nations.

He added that after the failure of extremist projects such as ISIS and Takfiri movements, Western powers shifted toward promoting concepts such as “American Islam,” “liberal Islam,” and “liberal Shiism” through universities, think tanks, and networks aimed at hollowing out Islam’s revolutionary and civilization-building content.

Gaza: A Disgraceful Display of Western Civilization

Referring to the ongoing Israeli crimes in Gaza, Ayatollah Kabi said the atrocities are the product of science divorced from faith.

“A civilization that separates science from morality commits crimes worse than those of the Mongols and Nazism,” he said, describing Gaza as a “shameful exhibition of Western civilization.”

He contrasted this with the concept of Islam of Iqamah, which he said combines science and faith, rationality and spirituality, justice and progress, authority and divine mercy. Quoting the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Kabi stressed that Islam cannot be reduced to a minimum framework but must be implemented across all cultural, social, political, economic, and governance systems.

Pillars of ‘Islam of Establishment’

Ayatollah Kabi outlined the key indicators of establishing Islam:

  • Monotheism and servitude as the central axis, extending from belief to acceptance of divine sovereignty in all spheres
  • Social justice as a divine and multilayered reality, unattainable without religious governance
  • Religious rule and implementation of Sharia as essential for a wholesome life
  • Enjoining good and forbidding evil as a guarantee of effective and popular governance
  • Jihad and resistance as inseparable elements of establishing religion

Rejecting claims that justice can be realized without religious governance, Ayatollah Kabi said secular systems can only deliver partial and material justice, while comprehensive justice—both worldly and spiritual—requires the establishment of religion.

Challenges, Opportunities, and Civilizational Jihad

Ayatollah Kabi identified hidden secularism, administrative and economic corruption, media warfare, institutional weakness, and distorted interpretations of religion as major challenges facing the Islamic Republic.

He also highlighted popular religious faith, scientific and cultural capacity, the rise of a committed young generation, and the formation of the Resistance Front as key opportunities for advancing Islamic civilization.

Emphasizing the necessity of “civilizational jihad,” Ayatollah Kabi said the establishment of religion is impossible without struggle. He described the guardianship of the jurist as the (axis) of civilizational cohesion and the Islamic Republic as the central base of Islamic civilizational resistance.

“The future of the world is moving toward a new Islamic civilization, intelligent governance, and global justice,” he said, urging the Islamic world to maintain the spirit of resistance and unity.

He concluded by describing Islam of Establishment as a valuable work that deserves wide dissemination, particularly among the younger generation of the Islamic Revolution.
