Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at the Imam Kazim (AS) Seminary in Qom, Ayatollah Jawaheri described Mirza Naeini as both a master of jurisprudence and a pioneer of moral and political insight. “Ayatollah Naeini combined profound scholarship with a realistic political outlook, defending Islam, justice, and independence with wisdom and courage,” he said.
The seminary scholar noted that Mirza Naeini’s political thought revolved around three key principles: supporting the Constitutional Movement to limit tyranny through Islamic oversight; confronting colonialism and declaring jihad against the British occupation of Iraq in 1914; and defending the independence of Muslim nations against foreign interference.
Ayatollah Jawaheri emphasized that Mirza Naeini’s belief in Islamic unity and his rejection of divisions imposed by colonial powers made him a timeless model for resistance and reform. Even in dealing with Reza Shah’s authoritarian regime, he said, Mirza Naeini remained firm in his principles, refusing compromise and maintaining loyalty to justice and the people’s rights.
He concluded that Mirza Naeini represents a rare synthesis of science, piety, and principled politics — a model of a scholar who saw moral integrity and social responsibility as inseparable from true religious knowledge.
