Speaking to Hawzah News Agency while taking part in the million-strong walk from Najaf to Karbala, he said: “I have long prayed for the honor of visiting the Ahlul Bayt (AS). Now that I have been blessed with this journey, an indescribable joy fills my heart. When I heard the slogan ‘Hussain belongs to all,’ it touched my soul deeply.”
The pilgrim highlighted the spiritual atmosphere along the path: “I witnessed morality, compassion, and discipline that were unparalleled. Some may think Imam Hussain (AS) is only for Shia Muslims, but in my belief, anyone who is not connected with Imam Hussain (AS) and the Ahlul Bayt (AS) is not connected with faith at all.”
Reflecting on the long journey on foot, Shir described Arbaeen as “a pure manifestation of love and devotion” that transforms difficulties into ease. “The greatest message of this gathering is love, because love unites people and is the key to resolving problems. Along the way, I saw people insist on serving the pilgrims, offering food, shelter, and care with all their hearts. I had never experienced such scenes in my life.”
Comparing Hajj and Arbaeen, he noted: “Each has its own special value, but Arbaeen carries a message of spirituality, sacrifice, and resistance for all humanity. It teaches us that true success lies in attaining divine satisfaction, even if it requires the greatest sacrifice.”
Concluding his remarks, the Pakistani pilgrim prayed for his visitation to be accepted by Imam Hussain (AS) and said: “This Walk and pilgrimage has been the most beautiful and sweetest moment of my life.”
