Hawzah News Agency- Honoring the distinguished scholarly and spiritual stature of Allameh Tabatabaei, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli described him as a "perfect human being" — a rare figure who not only excelled as a philosopher and jurist but also attained high levels of human perfection through sincere devotion and spiritual discipline.
“Allameh Tabatabaei was not merely a great philosopher and accomplished jurist. Through his spiritual conduct and servitude, he reached a level of human refinement found in few,” His Eminence stated.
Sharing personal memories of his long-standing relationship with Allameh Tabatabaei, his students, and his family, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli urged researchers to explore underrepresented dimensions of the scholar’s life and contributions.
“In Allameh's works, there are insights not found in any seminary or university curriculum,” he said. “He pursued a path beyond the formal academic framework — a path rooted in spirituality and intuitive knowledge.”
Highlighting the significance of bridging traditional Islamic scholarship with modern academic discourse, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli called for a renewed focus on Allameh Tabatabaei’s “scientific and practical life” within seminary education.
He concluded by emphasizing the necessity of critical engagement with Islamic philosophy:
“Islamic philosophy must be rigorously analyzed and critiqued, while maintaining a meaningful dialogue with Western philosophy. At the same time, we must develop rational and scientific strategies to foster better integration between the seminary and the university systems.”
