In an interview with Hawzah News Agency, Hujjat al-IslamShahroudi stated: “With this threat, the U.S. President proved to the world that he is a warlord. This reckless move not only exposed his true nature but also inflicted damage on his own country’s image and interests.”
He further explained that the threat triggered a wave of solidarity among the Iranian people and the wider Islamic Ummah, who responded by holding public demonstrations, donning symbolic shrouds, and issuing statements in defense of the Supreme Leader and the religious authority.
“The Iranian people are students of the school of Imam Hussein (AS),” Shahroudi noted. “This school is alive and continues to resist oppression. The U.S. should know it cannot stand against a nation whose slogan is, ‘We are the enemies of the oppressors of the world.’”
He emphasized that the Supreme Leader’s position is not merely political but deeply rooted in Islamic doctrine. “The guardianship of the jurist (Wilayat al-Faqih) and religious authority are foundational pillars of the Islamic socio-political system. The leadership of the Shiite world lies in the hands of a comprehensive and capable mujtahid,” he said. “America has yet to comprehend the true personality of the Supreme Leader.”
Shahroudi quoted the late Imam Khomeini, who once described the current Supreme Leader as a rare figure devoted to Islam and the Iranian people. “Many high-ranking clerics have praised him as a skilled captain who can safely steer the ship of the Islamic Revolution through stormy waters,” he added.
Referring to recent popular demonstrations, Shahroudi said the people’s unified support during the imposed 12-day war was proof of the deep spiritual bond they share with the Supreme Leader. “Leadership is not merely a title or political role—it is Imamate. That’s why I say the Supreme Leader is truly ‘Imam Khamenei.’ History has not seen a figure like him.”
He also called on scholars, intellectuals, and media figures to clarify the importance of religious authority and leadership to the public. “The duty of every scholar is to defend the position of the Supreme Leader and uphold the achievements of the 12-day war. Islamic Iran is not an aggressor—it is a defender. But any attack will be met with a strong and decisive response.”
In conclusion, Shahroudi affirmed: “Victory in the eight years of Sacred Defense and the recent confrontation shows that God is with the pious and their leader. Today, more than ever, we must obey the command of the Guardian of the Muslims.”
