Hawzah News Agency- the senior cleric made the remarks during a meeting with Kazem Jalali, the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Russia, while offering condolences on recent days and honoring the memory of the martyred Leader and the recent martyrs.
"These martyrs not only brought dignity and honor to the faith, but also brought pride to Iran and the flag of the Islamic Republic, demonstrating that divine victory transcends outward calculations," Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stated. "No one imagined that Iran would stand up to these global powers in such a manner and disgrace them."
Citing the Holy Quran, the revered scholar described the Iranian nation's victory as a manifestation of divine promise. "Just as God has stated in the Quran, 'It is He who supported you with His help and with the believers' (8:62), He aids the Islamic community both through unseen assistance and through the presence and faith of the people. The recent events are a clear example of this divine tradition," he added.
Beyond Diplomacy: The Duty of Intellectual Engagement
Addressing the Iranian ambassador's mission in Russia, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stressed that the Islamic Republic's representatives carry a weightier responsibility beyond political duties.
"We are not only Iranian; we are also Muslim. Therefore, in addition to your political responsibility, a more important duty rests upon you: establishing scholarly and theological ties with Muslim scholars and thinkers in Russia," he said. "This engagement must revolve around core themes such as theology, the Hereafter, the reality of the human being, and fundamental doctrinal issues—the fact that God exists, that eternity is real—because such dialogue can awaken the divine primordial nature within human beings."
Imam Khomeini's Letter: A Civilizational Model, Not a Diplomatic Note
Recalling the historic mission of delivering Imam Khomeini's message to Mikhail Gorbachev, the senior cleric underscored its enduring relevance as a model of engagement.
"That letter was not a political or diplomatic correspondence. We convinced them that it was not akin to presenting a letter of credence; rather, it was an instructive message—one that we must read and teach—because it called upon the human being to reflect on his own truth, on God, and on his eternal destiny," Ayatollah Javadi Amoli stated. "For this reason, these teachings must continue to be pursued in dialogue with thinkers across the world."
Constant Enemy Plots Demand Unwavering Vigilance
Turning to the threats facing the Islamic Republic, Ayatollah Javadi Amoli issued a stark warning about the persistent nature of enemy conspiracies.
"Israel is perpetually engaged in treachery and espionage. The Holy Quran itself tells us we are confronting an enemy from whom 'you will constantly discover treachery' (5:13)—every day they plot, every day they spy," he said. "Experience has shown today that enemies, utilizing espionage networks, seek to strike at the Iranian nation. Therefore, maintaining insight and reliance upon God is the secret to the country's dignity and authority."
In concluding, the Grand Ayatollah once again stressed the necessity of expanding intellectual and theological ties with Muslim thinkers in Russia, expressing hope that through the exposition of rational and Quranic teachings, the path for the spread of truth, justice, and the teachings of the Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon them) would be further paved across the globe.
