Hawzah News Agency- Ayatollah Javad Marvi, the Second Secretary of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries, traveled to Iraq to attend the funeral of the martyred leader. Speaking at a gathering of scholars and seminary clergymen held in Najaf Ashraf, with delegations from the Qom Seminary in attendance, he stated:
“A group of scholars from the Holy Seminary of Qom, from the vicinity of the shrine of Karimah of Ahl al-Bayt (peace be upon her), along with professors and representatives of the offices of grand religious authorities in Qom, have traveled to Najaf Ashraf. Their sole purpose, after paying homage at the sacred shrine of our master, Amir al-Mu’minin Ali ibn Abi Talib (peace be upon him), is to convey the greetings of the religious authorities at the Qom Seminary to the distinguished scholars, grand authorities, thinkers, elites, and struggling youth of Iraq.”
He underlined that this underscores the depth of the bonds of brotherhood, faith, and unity of word between the two noble seminaries and the two brotherly nations, adding: “Our greetings and salutations go to the brotherly Iraqi nation; the nation about whom the martyred leader said: ‘The Iraqi nation is a great nation, a dignified nation, a nation of culture, and a nation of immense will and determination.’”
The Qom Seminary teacher continued: “Following these greetings, we came bearing the body of our martyred leader to entrust him to you, so that his long-held wish—to visit the shrine of the Master of the Faithful and the Master of the Two Worlds, Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (peace be upon him)—might be fulfilled.”
The member of the Society of Seminary Teachers added: “We brought his noble body to you, but it was soaked in blood and his limbs were severed. As you know, our martyred Imam and Leader stood firm and unwavering on the path of the school of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (peace be upon him). He repeatedly declared during the visitation of his master that he would sacrifice his life, his family, and his wealth for him in the month of Ramadan, while fasting and thirsty. He embodied this truth. He sacrificed his life, his family, and his wealth for the cause of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (peace be upon him), after declaring in his final speech: ‘Those like me will never pledge allegiance to a Yazid.’ And he would say: ‘We are under the banner of Abal-Fadl al-Abbas (peace be upon him) and we will never regret it.’”
Ayatollah Marvi continued: “O our martyred Sayyid, O our martyred Sayyid, you often said in your speeches: ‘I sincerely thank the generous Iraqi nation for their hospitality and warm reception of the Islamic Ummah during the Arbaeen days.’ O martyred Sayyid, look today, on the eve of the Arbaeen of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (peace be upon him), at how the Iraqi nation, its seminary scholars, elites, youth, and zealous tribesmen have formed a united front, eager to host and welcome you.”
He stated: “This magnificent funeral, witnessed by distinguished scholars, grand religious authorities, intellectual elites, political figures, and the zealous youth of Iraq, is not merely a farewell to a great martyr. It is a clear message to the entire world. This funeral procession affirms to the world that the nations of Iraq and Iran are a single soul in two bodies, united by creed, a shared path, and faith-based brotherhood. Just as the martyred Sayyid emphasized, Iran and Iraq are two nations whose bodies are intertwined, whose hearts are united, and whose spirits are bound by a covenant of faith in God, love for the Ahl al-Bayt, and the path of Aba Abdillah al-Hussein (peace be upon them all).”
The Second Secretary of the Supreme Council of Islamic Seminaries stressed: “This bond must grow stronger and more steadfast by the day. We ask God Almighty to destroy the enemies of these two nations, and to make them stronger, more united, and more cohesive, and to annihilate the transgressing Zionist enemy. Indeed, He is the All-Hearing, the One who answers. O Lord, we long for Your honorable governance that grants dignity to Islam and its people, and humiliates hypocrisy and its people, and we ask You to make us among the callers to Your obedience and the guides on Your path. O Lord, grant us patience, make our steps firm, and grant us victory over the disbelieving people.”
