Hawzah News Agency- In a message marking Iran’s National Doctors’ Day, Ayatollah Alireza Arafi, director of the Islamic Seminaries of Iran, praised the country’s medical community for its dedication to preserving what he called “the most precious divine gift — human life and health.”

In the Name of God, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
“And whoever saves one life, it is as though he has saved all mankind.” (Holy Quran, Surah Al-Ma’idah, Verse 32)
The distinguished medical community and healthcare staff represent a precious asset of knowledge, skill, and professional ethics, carrying out their mission to safeguard the most precious divine blessing — human life and health.
From a monotheistic perspective, medicine is not merely a collection of sciences and techniques for diagnosing and treating illness. Rather, it is a humane science and an ethical responsibility in which research and experience are intertwined with human dignity, compassion for those in pain, and trustworthiness toward human life. Alongside drawing on modern scientific achievements and advanced technologies, the physician must always uphold the sanctity of the human person, the hope of the patient, and the trust of society.
Imam Ali (peace be upon him) said: “Knowledge is power; whoever finds it prevails by it, and whoever fails to attain it is overcome by others.” Accordingly, the advancement of medicine in the country requires continued knowledge production, the expansion of basic and applied research, the strengthening of education, the intelligent use of modern technologies, and the simultaneous protection of ethics and justice in health care.
Iranian Doctors’ Day is an occasion to honor the scholarly efforts and sincere dedication of physicians serving in hospitals, treatment centers, universities, and the fields of research and education with a sense of responsibility and self-sacrifice. While commemorating the memory of the martyrs of health and paying tribute to all those serving in the healthcare sector, I sincerely congratulate the medical community — professors, researchers, residents, and medical students — especially the committed and hardworking physicians of Qom Province and Qom University of Medical Sciences.
I pray to Almighty God for the increasing success of all physicians and healthcare workers in the path of knowledge and service, for their honor, health, and well-being, and for the swift and complete recovery of all those who are ill.
