Hawzah News Agency- The Friday Imam of Pardisan in Qom Hujjat al-Islam Hamedi has spoken in Friday prayer sermons this week in the Pardisan prayer hall, about the centenary of the Re-establishment of Qom Seminary, “Next week, a great event will take place in Qom; the magnificent ceremony of the 100th Anniversary of the Re-establishment of Qom Seminary will be held, which will be a valuable move with the message of the Supreme Leader of the Revolution and the great authorities in attendance.”
He considered this event a valuable opportunity to review the germination of this holy tree and added,” Qom Seminary has played an unparalleled role in preserving Shiite culture and producing religious knowledge throughout history.”
The Friday Imam of Pardisan continued to say that the official re-establishment of this seminary in the modern era in 1922, which is considered a turning point in the history of this blessed seminary. The Qom Seminary later became a center of anti-colonial struggles, and its fruit was the victory of the Islamic Revolution.
The seminary professor also referred to the tragedy in Shahid Rajaee port and, while offering condolences to the bereaved families, said,” According to the authorities, the main reason for the incident was unprincipled movements, lack of necessary care, and failure to observe the principles of passive defense.”
In another part of his speech, he referred to the commemoration of Martyr Motahari which marks the Teacher's Day on May 2, adding,” The Late Imam Khomeini (RA) introduced Martyr Motahari as an enlightened teacher. This martyr was a pioneer of the Jihad of Explanation, and his main concerns can be summarized in three axes: cultural and scholastic independence based on Islamic ideology, freedom of thought, and the continuation of the role of the clergy.”
