46th anniversary of Islamic Revolution celebrated in New Delhi

On the occasion of the 46th anniversary of the victory of the Islamic Revolution, the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in New Delhi held a ceremony in which ambassadors and representatives of various countries, Indian officials and prominent scientific, cultural and political figures were present.

The ceremony, which was held at Shangri-La Hotel, commenced with the playing of the national anthems of Iran and India. Dr. Iraj Elahi, the Iranian Ambassador to India, welcomed the guests and delivered a speech saying that the Islamic Revolution was a turning point in the history of Iran and emphasized that this revolution, led by the Late Imam Khomeini (RA) and with the support of the Iranian nation, overthrew the monarchy and established a popular government based on the sacred laws of Islam.

Jaideep Majumdar, Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, also congratulated the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution at the ceremony and considered the relations between Iran and India to be very valuable, saying that thousands of Iranian and Indian students study in universities in the two countries, which indicates the deep scientific and cultural ties between the two nations.
