Hawzah News Agency- The ceremony was held on September 10, 2024, to commemorate the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Hasan al-Askari (PBUH).
The event took place in the conference room of the Central Library of Astan Quds Razavi, attended by managers and experts from the organization’s libraries, museums, and archives.
The Astan Quds Razavi Library houses 4,000 manuscripts focused on "Tafsir" (Quranic exegesis), including a rare manuscript attributed to Imam Hasan al-Askari (PBUH).
Among the 95 such manuscripts in libraries across the country, 26 are preserved at the Astan Quds Razavi Library, reported the organization’s website.
The oldest manuscript, dated 975 AH, was unveiled during the ceremony. This manuscript is the sixth oldest in the nation's libraries.
Mohammad Vafadar Moradi, a researcher and manuscript expert, explained that the manuscript interprets up to verse 282 of Surah Al-Baqarah and includes discussions on the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) and the ethics of contentment, among other topics.
Moradi noted that Imam Hasan al-Askari (PBUH) lived less than 30 years and was under constant surveillance in Samarra during his Imamate. Despite this, he made significant scholarly contributions, stressed the scholar.
One of his notable works, "Sahifa Askariya," contains numerous prayers and supplications, which were conveyed to his companions and later documented, he said, adding that this work is available in manuscript form and has also been published.
