Hawzah News Agency- Senior Shia scholar Grand Ayatollah Nasser Makarem Shirazi had a meeting with the Iranian president Hujjat al-Islam Ebrahim Raisi in Qom on Monday, August 21 during which he considered the creation of hope in the society as a cause of progress and addressed the president, "It is a valuable point that you speak with hope and trust in God in all issues."

This Shia scholar further stated that inflation and livelihood issues are the main concerns of the people and added,” People want to see the effects of the government's activities in their everyday lives.”

Grand Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi listed the unstable prices of goods, the dependence on the dollar among the factors of high prices and emphasized,” the dependence of prices on the dollar must be eliminated since less reliance on the dollar means the less effects it will have. It appears on people's everyday lives and causes satisfaction.”

The Grand Ayatollah pointed to the housing problem and added,” The issue of housing prices and rents has become a major problem for which the government should think of a solution. The government should fulfill the promise it made in the field of housing construction; if these promises are fulfilled, many problems in the housing will be solved.”

Ayatollah Makarem Shirazi further addressed the issue of hijab and emphasized,” what is related to Islamic culture should be observed in Iran.”

He concluded by saying,” Despite all the economic and livelihood problems in Iran, people adhere to the religion, the principle of the system and the country, so efforts should be made to solve their economic and cultural problems.”
