Hawzah News Agency – There are many commonalities between religions, especially between Islam and Christianity, and human beings today need to know these commonalities, because the solution of many problems of today's societies depends on paying attention to these commonalities.
According to the correspondent of Hawzah News Agency, Ayatollah Arafi spoke today during a meeting with Rev. Prof. Dr. Ioan Sauca, acting secretary general of the World Council of Churches (WCC), held at the office of the director of seminaries in Qom, explaining the importance of interfaith interaction.
At the beginning of his speech, he said: "I, both on behalf of the seminary and on behalf of the Al-Mustafa Al-Alaamiyah, declare my readiness to deepen the dialogue with a fair approach and focusing on human needs."
Ayatollah Arafi stated: The first step in solving these challenges is to create constructive dialogue between the cultural and religious institutions of the world.
Emphasizing the need for different religions to achieve commonalities, he said: "We must act in camps based on religious commonalities to confront oppression and human growth and excellence."
In the first part of his speech, the director of seminaries said: "Scientific and epistemological developments in the field of humanities and theology in contemporary Iran and during the Islamic Revolution have been significant."
He added: "Despite all the problems, but in the field of universities and scientific centers in recent decades, good things have happened in Iran; in such a way that nearly two thousand scientific and academic centers have been set up in Islamic Iran during these years.
The leader of Friday prayer of Qom emphasized: Four million students are studying in these scientific centers at different levels and there are one hundred thousand faculty members in this university and scientific centers in Iran.
Ayatollah Arafi, stating that scientific growth in our country is done by the public and private sectors, said: Iran has taken good steps in advanced technologies and in this development and deepening of science and technology has paid attention to important points, first Regional justice as these scientific centers are spread throughout Iran, the second is linguistic and religious justice and the third is gender justice because, unlike before the revolution, today about 60% of university centers are owned by women.
Pointing to the need for interaction and cooperation between different scientific and religious centers of the world, he added: "We believe that interfaith dialogue should not be neglected for a moment, and I have been with many religious leaders and thinkers since the beginning of the Corona epidemic." I have corresponded and talked.
In the next part of his speech, the director of seminaries explained the importance and position of Qom in publishing and spreading humanities and divine sciences and said: Qom is a pivotal and important base in the Islamic world and it can be claimed that today Qom seminary is based on science and Spirituality has become in the Islamic world.
The leader of Friday prayer of Qom said: Iran is one of the bases for boiling scientific, intellectual and philosophical ideas and every day in Qom there are several chairs of peripatetic philosophy, transcendent wisdom and western philosophy, especially in the field of contemporary and Middle Eastern philosophy. And the West and interfaith pay special attention.
