Al-Mustafa University President Attends Indonesian Alumni Association Gathering

The Indonesian Al-Mustafa University Alumni Association (IKMAL) convened a major meeting at Hussainiyah Al-Qorbi in Suwayvo Pandaan, attended by the President of Al-Mustafa International University, Hojatoleslam Ali Abbasi.

Hawzah News Agency- Addressing participants, Hojatoleslam Abbasi underscored the need for innovation, synergy, and the enhancement of individual capacities among Al-Mustafa alumni, stressing that such measures are essential for effectively responding to contemporary global challenges.

Expressing appreciation for the dedication of scholars, professors, and religious activists serving their communities, Abbasi described the academic presentations by Hojatoleslam Nasser Damiati and Zaher Yahya as valuable contributions to the event.

He reiterated Al-Mustafa University’s firm commitment to supporting its graduates and the institutions they establish around the world, adding:

“Following the path of Imam Khomeini (RA), the Leader of the Islamic Revolution has emphasized the development of specialized educational centers for non-Iranian students. We, at Al-Mustafa, are honored to be part of this mission and to have served tens of thousands of scholars from more than 120 countries.”

Highlighting the evolving needs of the modern era, Abbasi noted that traditional methods alone are no longer sufficient.
“We do not claim perfection,” he said, “but we are committed to continuous reform, development, and progress.”

He criticized narrow approaches that measure a student’s success solely by mastery of classical jurisprudential texts such as Makasib, stating that such perspectives reduce a comprehensive mission into a limited framework.
“No single person or discipline can answer all of humanity’s needs. We must foster specialization and shared responsibility.”

Emphasizing faith, hope, and the divine promise of the triumph of the righteous, Abbasi called for a shift from quantity-focused planning to quality-driven strategies.

Cooperation and unity, he said, remain the foundations of real progress.
“Working together is harder than working alone. It requires patience and tolerance. Differences of opinion should not lead us to create new parallel institutions. Our priority must be unity, not fragmentation.”

The university president also encouraged scholars to enhance their personal skills, noting that new elective skill-based courses have been introduced at Al-Mustafa University to help students pursue areas aligned with their talents and interests.

Coinciding with the martyrdom anniversary of Hazrat Fatima Zahra (peace be upon her), Abbasi expressed his heartfelt condolences and urged participants to spread the teachings and virtues of the Ahlul Bayt (peace be upon them) within their communities.

In his concluding remarks to the Indonesian alumni, Abbasi reminded them that the challenges they face abroad may differ from those encountered in Iran.
“Do not lose hope,” he said. “With collective wisdom, teamwork, and renewed approaches, you can open new paths of engagement and service in various fields.”
