Hawzah News Agency- Speaking at Friday prayers in Qom province on August 7, 2026, Hojatoleslam Karimipour told worshippers that repeated US threats against Iran stem from frustration over the Resistance's enduring vitality.
"Since the signing of the understanding, American officials have repeatedly threatened Iran with military strikes, only to postpone action under various pretexts each time," the cleric said. "The reason behind these repeated threats is that the Resistance Front, contrary to enemy forecasts, has not only avoided collapse but is advancing with full force."
He said the enemy is waging a psychological war aimed at portraying Iran as being on the verge of surrender or disintegration—a narrative contradicted by facts on the ground.
America's Diminishing Footprint
Karimipour contrasted Washington's current campaign with its past wars, noting that while Afghanistan and Iraq fell swiftly, more than 150 days of recent hostilities have yielded no achievements for the adversaries. "This alone demonstrates their failure to realize their objectives," he stated.
The Friday Imam pointed to mounting evidence of an American military drawdown from Iraq, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan, describing it as a gradual retreat that has alarmed US allies who tied their security and survival to Washington's military presence.
"The Zionist regime, which owes its survival to American and British backing, will face dire conditions as this support weakens," he said. "American threats are less a sign of strength and more an indication of impotence and desperation."
Trust in God, Satisfaction With Divine Decree
In his first sermon, Karimipour cited a narration from the Prophet's Night Ascension (Miraj), in which God identifies two supreme deeds: complete trust in Him and contentment with His decree. He also expounded on Imam Ali's (PBUH) sermon from Nahj al-Balagha delivered while washing the Prophet's blessed body, highlighting the Prophet's unique station as the Seal of Prophethood and the profound grief shared by all Muslims at his passing.
Arbaeen: A Renewed Pledge of Allegiance
Turning to the massive Arbaeen pilgrimage, Hojatoleslam Karimipour described the gathering of millions as a renewal of allegiance to the ideals of Imam Hussein (AS). He revealed that over three million Iranian pilgrims walked the Najaf-to-Karbala route this year while mourning their martyred leader.
"The Iraqi people this year displayed images of the martyred leader at mourning processions, homes, vehicles, and along routes leading to Karbala, expressing their deep reverence," he noted. "Their treatment of Iranian pilgrims was distinctly different from previous years, as they honored a nation whose steadfastness and resistance against America and the Zionist regime showcased the dignity and might of the Islamic world."
