Hawzah News Agency – Hojatoleslam Qasem Ravanbakhsh, representative of the people of Qom in the Iranian Parliament, underscored the strategic significance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that preserving the Islamic Republic of Iran's authority over this critical maritime passageway is a fundamental pillar of the nation's national security.
Speaking at a public gathering in Qom, the MP pointed to the Resistance Front's support for the Islamic Republic and its allegiance to the Supreme Leader, stating that Resistance forces, particularly Lebanon's Hezbollah, insist on obedience to Wilayah and the continuation of the Resistance path even under the most difficult conditions—a spirit derived from the culture of sacrifice and struggle.
Resistance: The Sole Path to Confront the Enemy
Referencing the message of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ravanbakhsh added that past experiences have demonstrated that the only way to confront the enemy's excessive demands is resistance and steadfastness. Wherever nations have stood firm against pressure, they have achieved success, and wherever they have taken the path of compromise, they have paid a heavier price.
The Qom MP noted that certain parties are attempting to push a false binary of "war or negotiations," asserting that the Iranian nation is a proponent of peace, security, and tranquility, but that lasting peace can only be achieved in the shadow of authority and resistance, not through retreat in the face of the enemy.
Experience Proves the Enemy Does Not Abide by Its Commitments
Hojatoleslam Ravanbakhsh pointed to the experience of negotiations in past years, noting that at various junctures, while the Islamic Republic of Iran was engaged in talks, the enemy simultaneously continued its hostile actions. This experience proves that the enemy's promises cannot be trusted, and the country's interests must be defended by relying on domestic capabilities and preserving national authority.
He added that whenever the enemy senses weakness or retreat, it intensifies the pressure, but when faced with the authority of the Islamic Republic, it is compelled to back down.
Securing the Strait of Hormuz is a Strategic Priority
The representative of Qom in the Iranian Parliament highlighted the strategic importance of the Strait of Hormuz, stating that preserving the Islamic Republic of Iran's authority over this vital maritime chokepoint is among the essential matters of national security. He confirmed that the Parliament is currently reviewing related bills to strengthen the country's legal and strategic standing in this domain.
He emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran, with full readiness, will defend the nation's interests, security, and strategic capacities and will not allow the enemy to achieve its objectives.
