Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during Friday prayers at the Khoja Jame Mosque in Mumbai, Hojatoleslam Syed Ahmad Ali Abedi stressed that the luminous life of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) presents a universal model of purity, devotion and steadfastness. He said the teachings of the Ahlul Bayt (PBUT) constitute “the only true and secure path to salvation and eternal felicity.”
He noted that the Fatimiyya mourning period is not merely a historical remembrance but a time rich with ethical and spiritual lessons.
“Observing these days—whether through gatherings, mourning, or acts of service—places a believer under divine grace,” he added.
Hojatoleslam Abedi emphasized that the essence of mourning goes beyond emotional expression. While tears and traditional rituals hold merit, he said the higher objective is to study and apply the lifestyle and values of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) in personal and social conduct, thereby cultivating inner peace, insight and moral refinement.
Highlighting the central role of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) in Islamic history, he said her path is synonymous with the path of the Ahlul Bayt (PBUT), describing it as “the purest and most secure way for humanity.”
Citing the well-known hadith of Hazrat Zahra (PBUH) regarding modesty, he underscored the importance of hijab, calling it a divine obligation rather than a cultural or contemporary trend. He warned that modern social pressures increasingly undermine modesty, despite hijab being a guarantor of dignity and protection in Islam.
Addressing broader cultural dynamics, the Mumbai cleric drew a comparison between Islamic and non-Islamic value systems.
“In non-Islamic cultures, increased worldly progress brings expanded freedoms,” he said. “But in Islam, as a person ascends spiritually, their responsibilities and divine duties grow. This reflects the greatness of Islam’s moral and educational framework, which is founded on responsible development.”
