Hawzah News Agency- Speaking in a meeting with scholars and clerics in a provincial gathering, Pezeshkian underscored that unity and fraternity among believers have been the shared mission of all divine prophets throughout history.
“My first approach in this regard is one based on faith and divine teachings,” he said. “Before any decision or action, we must act according to belief and piety. The Holy Quran commands: O you who have believed, fear Allah and hold firmly to the rope of God, and do not be divided.”
The president stressed that the essence of faith lies in empathy, solidarity, and adherence to the divine rope, while division distances people from truth and weakens the light of belief.
Quoting Quranic teachings, Pezeshkian said divine blessings come through the unity of hearts and purity of souls, not through discord and hostility among believers.
He emphasized that all prophets—from Abraham and Ishmael to Moses, Jesus, and Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)—were sent with one message: faith in the One God and belief in a single divine truth. “True faith is found in unity,” he said. “If Muslims today were united under this Quranic command, the Zionist regime would never dare to bombard the oppressed people of Gaza.”
Pezeshkian condemned the silence and division among Muslim nations in the face of such aggression. “How can the Muslim Ummah, which is one nation under God, remain divided and indifferent while our Muslim brothers and sisters are under attack?” he asked.
Highlighting the illegitimate foundation of the Zionist entity, he said: “The Zionist regime, with its small population and roots in aggression, has survived only by exploiting divisions among Muslims. The Quran clearly states that whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will never be accepted from them. So why are Muslims turning against one another?”
The president pointed out that God sent prophets and divine scriptures to unite people upon truth, but after clear evidence was revealed, some followed the path of discord out of envy, greed, and worldliness.
“Muslims are brothers,” Pezeshkian affirmed. “This is not merely a belief; it is a divine command. The Prophet (PBUH) established a pact of brotherhood among Muslims in Medina and declared during the conquest of Mecca that Muslims are one hand against others. So why are we fighting each other? Why are Islamic countries in conflict with one another?”
He stressed that the current divisions within the Islamic world serve the interests of the Zionist regime, the United States, and global Zionism. “They want the Islamic Ummah to be consumed by internal disputes so they can continue their aggression unchecked,” he said. “If unity prevails among us, no power will dare covet our lands or interfere in our affairs.”
Pezeshkian added that forgetting the Quranic principle of brotherhood has allowed enemies to exploit the weaknesses of the Muslim world. “The foundation of religion and morality is brotherhood, but we have neglected it, and this negligence has opened the door to foreign influence,” he said. “Restoring unity means returning to the essence of faith.”
Concluding his remarks, the president emphasized that the path to reform begins with solidarity and cooperation. “If our hands and hearts come together, we can overcome any challenge,” he stated. “I make no promise of immediate solutions, but I firmly believe that through unity, we will gradually overcome our difficulties.”
