Mass Rally in London Against Trump’s Visit: Protesters Call Him a Symbol of Racism and Warmongering

Thousands of people gathered in London’s Parliament Square on Wednesday to protest against the second official visit of former U.S. President Donald Trump to the United Kingdom.

Hawzah News Agency- The demonstration was organized by the Stop Trump Coalition, a network of more than fifty unions and NGOs, including anti-racism movements, environmental activists, and pro-Palestinian organizations.

Protesters carried placards with slogans such as “No to Racism”, “Stop Trump”, and “End Arms Sales to the Zionist Regime”, expressing their rejection of Washington’s hostile policies.


Reverend Poppy Hughes, who was asked about those who said vicars should be apolitical, replied: "Jesus preached peace and compassion and that's why I'm here".

Zoe Gardner, a political commentator and one of the organisers of Wednesday's protest, said that Trump "represents everything that we hate".

During the rally, political and social figures including former Labour MPs Jeremy Corbyn and Zarah Sultana, as well as human rights activists, delivered speeches describing Trump as “a symbol of racism, warmongering, and contempt for human values''.

One protester noted that “Governments that bow down to Trump and his policies pave the way for the rise of fascism''.

The march paused outside Downing Street, where demonstrators chanted against the U.S. administration and the British government, calling for an end to London’s subservience to Washington.

At the same time, as Trump attended a royal ceremony in Windsor, another group of demonstrators gathered there, stressing that the visit was “designed more to fuel Trump’s ego than to serve the interests of the people''.
