Hawzah News Agency- The President emphasized that on such occasions, the people of the Maldives must remain steadfast in their belief that the safety and well-being of the nation are deeply connected to its commitment to Islam.
Describing the Prophet Muhammad’s (Peace Be Upon Him) Hijrah from Mecca to Medina, as guided by Allah, as a historic event rich with lessons for the Islamic Ummah, President Dr Muizzu noted that the Prophet’s actions during this journey offer key examples of principles that must be upheld for success, whether as individuals, as a nation, or as part of the wider Ummah.
In his address, the President referred to key events on the night of the Hijrah, including Imam Ali sleeping in the Prophet’s (Peace Be Upon Him) bed, the three-day stay in the Cave of Thawr south of Makkah, and the role of Amir ibn Fuhayrah in concealing their tracks. He stated that these moments serve as powerful examples of the importance of tawakkul – trust in Allah – and vigilance, particularly in the face of deceit and adversity.
The President further noted that this year coincides with trying times, during which it is essential to seek guidance from Allah and to pray for the unity and protection of the Islamic Ummah. He stated that, while several countries in the Middle East have recently endured the hardships of war, the sincere prayers of the Maldivian people are with their Muslim brothers and sisters. He also offered prayers for the safety and peace of the people of Palestine, and for the protection and stability of all Muslim nations in the region.
