Ayat. Arafi meets with Iran’s Deputy Minister of Labor

The Head of Iran’s Islamic seminaries stated that it is necessary for the technical sector to move forward in line with the knowledge sector in order to train a skilled workforce and develop the country.

Hawzah News Agency- the Head of Iran’s Seminary Ayatollah Alireza Arafi had a meeting with Mohammadi, Iran’s Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Welfare and Head of the Technical and Vocational Education Organization of Iran, and the accompanying delegation, which was held in Qom. During the meeting the two sides discussed issues such as having an applied approach and connection to science and knowledge in all scientific institutions and seminaries, skill development with the missions of each institution, upgrading and strengthening the level of skills in the economic issues, and considered the weakness of applied skills as one of the serious problems of the country.

The Head of Iran’s seminaries further considered one of the serious problems of the Fifth and Sixth Development Plans for the Economic, Social and Cultural Development of the Islamic Republic of Iran to be the neglect of skills issues, and said, "Only in some provinces, such as Yazd, did we witness the implementation of the Fifth and Sixth Development Plans to 70 percent, while in other regions it was below 50 percent; Today, one of the serious problems in education and training is the issue of skill development. It is necessary for the technical sector to progress in line with the knowledge field in order to train a skilled workforce and develop the country.”
