Hawzah News Agency- The Supreme Leader’s representative in Syria Hujjat al-Islam Sheikh Hamid Saffar Harandi has emphasized in a statement on the occasion of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza that this agreement was the result of the victory of the will of resistance and the defeat of the Zionist enemy. Referring to the sacrifices of the people in Gaza and their spirit of perseverance against the crimes of the usurper regime, he considered this victory a sign of the power of faith. He also emphasized the need to continue efforts to preserve the Palestinian cause and protect the rights of the people of this land.

“We congratulate the Islamic Ummah, the free people of the world, the Supreme Leader Imam Khamenei, and the soldiers of the axis of resistance on this victory. This victory is the result of the blood of the oppressed people of Gaza and the defeat of the vengeful Zionist enemy, which, after committing horrific crimes and widespread destruction, has failed to achieve any of its sinister goals.” He concluded.

Qatar on Wednesday announced that along with Egypt and the US as mediators, the ceasefire deal between the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, and Israel had been approved. The initial phase starting Sunday and lasting 42 days, includes the release of 33 Israeli detainees in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners.

The Israeli security cabinet has approved the deal, the prime minister’s office said on Friday, paving the way for the government’s final approval.

Israel has killed more than 46,000 people in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023 Hamas attacks, displaced most of the population and left much of the enclave in ruins. Despite the truce, Israeli attacks on Gaza have continued, according to local authorities.

The International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants in November for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
