Expressing deep concerns over the Hindu Sena’s application in the Rajasthan court to claim a temple in the Ajmer Sharif shrine, Hujjat al-Islam Syed Hassan Mousavi has condemned the move.

Hawzah News Agency- In his Friday prayer sermons at the Central Jama Masjid in Budgam, Hujjat al-Islam Syed Hassan Mousavi has strongly condemned the recent decision of the Rajasthan court in India to order an investigative survey of the Ajmer Sharif shrine.

The prominent scholar added, “These people have resorted to disrespecting religious holy places to gain fleeting popularity, which is very unfortunate. If we look back at history, no objection has ever been raised about the Ajmer Sharif shrine. From the Mongol era to the Khalji and Tughlaq, Hindu kings, Rajputs and even Marathas have always looked at this shrine with great respect and expressed their devotion to it.”

Hujjat al-Islam Syed Hasan further noted that many great personalities of Sanatan Dharam have also expressed their views on this Khwaja shrine with great respect. One cannot ignore the entire history based on just one book published in 1911. Followers of all religions express their devotion by visiting the Ajmer Sharif shrine, while this shrine has always been one of the greatest symbols of the Ganga-Jamuni civilization. It is very unfortunate that such a claim is being made that there is a temple in this shrine.

“The claim made by the Hindu Sena shows how far religious fanaticism has gone in the country.” He added.

The president of the Jammu and Kashmir Shia Sharia Association further warned that the continuation of such disputes will harm the secular fabric of the country and will lead to an escalation of sectarian tensions.

He demanded that the Indian government take decisive steps to prevent the misuse of legal process for sectarian purposes.
