The twelfth round of inter-faith dialogues between Islam and Russian Orthodox Christianity was held by the efforts of the cultural representative of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation and the Center for the Dialogue of Religions and Cultures in Danilov Monastery in Moscow, Russia.

Hawzah News Agency- the twelfth round of the dialogue between Islam and Orthodox Christianity in Russia after a four-year break due to the corona pandemic, was organized by the cultural envoy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the Russian Federation and the Center for the Dialogue of Religions and Cultures, with the presence of Hujjat al -Islam Mohammad Mahdi Imanipour, head of the Organization of Islamic Culture and Communications, Kazem Jalali Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Russia, Hujjat al-Islam Mohammadi Iraqi, member of Iran’s Assembly of Leadership Experts, Fatemeh Tabatabaei, President of the Islamic Mysticism Association, Hamid Hadavi, President of the Avicenna Foundation for Islamic Studies, Zahra Rashidbeigi, President of the Christian Religions Group of the Religion Dialogue Center, and Masoud Ahmadvand, Iran’s Cultural Advisor was held in Russia.

Emphasis On Religious Dialogue as A Way to Fight Extremism

In his speech, Hujjat al-Islam Imanipour expressed his satisfaction with the warm reception of the Russian side for this round of talks, which will be held again after a four-year hiatus, and considered inter-faith talks as one of the most central measures to curb extremism and social crises.

Hujjat al-Islam Imanipour, raised the question "What is the role of religion in the contemporary world?" and considered it dependent on the attitude of religious people towards religion and its necessity to enter into various aspects of human life.

This round of discussions on the topic of public services of religious communities in the post-pandemic world was held in Moscow from Monday February 20 to Wednesday 22, and articles on the interaction between priest training systems in universities, social services of religious people in the post-pandemic world, prerequisites and development factors Cooperation between Russia and Iran in the social and humanitarian field after the pandemic were presented in these meetings.
