Hawzah News Agency- Speaking during a visit to the library, Behnamjoo described the institution as a “lasting legacy” of the revered Shia authority, praising its extensive role in preserving Islamic written heritage and advancing scholarly work. “I was honored to visit this noble and invaluable collection, which plays an influential role on multiple levels,” he said.
The governor emphasized that the library has elevated Qom’s status as a key hub for academic and religious studies, adding that its work has helped institutionalize the culture of scientific endowment by safeguarding manuscripts and providing broad access to researchers.
During the tour, Behnamjoo inspected several departments, including the World Treasury of Islamic Manuscripts, the Manuscript Quarantine Unit, the Treasury of Ancient and Exquisite Printed Books, the Restoration Unit, the Micrography Center, the Manuscript Pathology Laboratory, and the exhibition of the late Ayatollah Marashi Najafi’s personal belongings.
At the conclusion of the visit, he commended the efforts of the library’s management and specialists, stressing the need to continue preserving, expanding, and promoting what he called a “major scientific asset.”
