Hawzah News Agency- Pro-Palestinian protesters in the United States gathered near the Met Gala — one of the world’s most glamorous fashion events — chanting slogans against the occupation and crimes of the Zionist regime in Palestine.

Protest organizers, who had called on social media for demonstrators to "surround" the Metropolitan Museum of Art (the Met), claimed that the Manhattan institution is "tied to genocide in every way possible''.

The group "Within Our Lifetimes" - which was the focus of anti-Israel protests in New York City - also criticized celebrities for "flaunting their wealth and excessive materialism" while the people of Gaza suffer in the midst of the ongoing war with Israel.

This marks the second consecutive year that protests have erupted around the venue during the Met Gala.
