Hawzah News Agency- The Head of Pakistan Shia Schools Alliance Ayatollah Hafez Syed Riaz Hussain Najafi, in his Friday prayer sermons held this week at Imam Ali Mosque in Lahore, Pakistan, referred to the anniversary of the destruction of Jannat al-Baqi cemetery, and called on Saudi authorities to take a historic step towards strengthening Islamic unity and enhancing Saudi Arabia’s position in the Islamic world by rebuilding this holy site.
Expressing deep regret over the destruction of the holy graves of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT) in Baqi, he stated, “The reconstruction of Jannat al-Baqi cemetery is not only a tribute to Islamic sanctities, but can also play an effective role in increasing the religious and spiritual prestige of Saudi Arabia and pave the way for the country’s economic growth.”
Addressing Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, he noted, “You, who are pursuing the development and transformation of your country with a new approach, can make the hearts of millions of Muslims jubilant and take an effective step towards the unity of the Islamic world by reconstructing the holy graves of the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUT). An action that can also go beyond the Hajj income in economic terms.”
The head of Pakistan Shia Schools Alliance reiterated, “If this historic demand is realized, Saudi Arabia will undoubtedly witness an improvement in its international status and an increase in respect and trust among Muslim nations.”
