Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli has stated,” The seminary and the university are not separate from one another and are united in religion, thought, belief, and statecraft.”

Hawzah News Agency- Shia source of emulation Grand Ayatollah Javadi Amoli has made some remarks on the unity of the seminary and the university, saying, "The main point is to be up-to-date; that is, the scholars must live a life as a seminarian but think like an academic. Those who work in the university, although they think and live like an academic, must think like a seminarian.”

“Previously, the seminary and the university were not separate from each other; in the era of Avicenna and his other contemporaries, they were in the same place, where they studied literature, jurisprudence, and principles, and they studied mathematics and medicine.” The cleric added.

They studied medicine, mathematics, geometry, arithmetic, jurisprudence and principles, as well as literature. Now that science has developed, the university has separated from the seminary, but they are united in religion, they are united in thought, in belief, and they are united in statecraft."
