Hawzah News Agency- Pakistani Senator Hujjat al-Islam Raja Nasir Abbas Jafari, chairman of the Pakistan Muslim Unity Assembly, said in a statement,” The government's discrimination and oppressive actions against the Pashtun nation are not only a violation of human rights, but also a direct attack on their existence, dignity and cultural heritage. This behavior is not only contrary to the principles of the Constitution of Pakistan, but is also a clear violation of international human rights laws.”
He further noted that Pashtuns have always played a role in the development of Pakistan, have made sacrifices to defend the homeland and served the country in every difficult time. However, the discrimination and cruel treatment of them is a clear injustice.
Hujjat al-Islam Nasir Abbas Jafari demanded that these unjust, inhuman and unconstitutional measures should be stopped immediately and the fundamental rights and justice should be ensured for the Pashtun people. He also asked that innocent prisoners and detained workers should be released.
The Pakistani senator added,” Instead of oppression in the Pashtun areas, peace and development should be promoted. For the progress of Pakistan, it is essential that all ethnic groups be granted equal rights and treated with justice. If the Pashtun people are not given rights and justice, this oppression will harm not only an ethnicity but also the progress and stability of the entire country.”
