Sheikh Zakzaky

Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky, the leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria, met with a group of people involved in the executive headquarters of Arbaeen Pilgrimage, at his residence in the city of Abuja, Nigeria.

Hawzah News Agency- on the occasion of Arbaeen pilgrimage and the great procession of Hosseini lovers in Karbala, a group of members of the executive staff of the Arbaeen pilgrimage met with Sheikh Ibrahim Zakzaky at his residence in the Nigerian Capital of Abuja.

In this meeting, Sheikh Zakzaky pointed out the large and magnificent presence of Hussaini pilgrims in the Arbaeen walk towards the shrine of Seyyed al-Shohada (PBUH) considering it a sign of faith and emphasized on making more efforts to serve the Arbaeen pilgrims of Imam Hussain (peace be upon him).

The leader of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria further noted, “Seize the opportunity of hosting and serving the Hussaini pilgrims and be grateful since your position is a special one.”

It should be noted that this year, as in previous years, African countries, especially Nigeria, have sent a delegation to Iraq to participate in the Arbaeen walk, and they have also planned processions along this route.

The Arbaeen pilgrimage is the world's largest annual public gathering. It is a pilgrimage to the shrine of Husayn ibn Ali, grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad and the third Shia imam. Every year, on the twentieth of Safar, also known as Arba'in, millions of pilgrims flock to Karbala, Iraq, often arriving there on foot from the nearby city of Najaf. Arbaeen marks forty days after the tenth of Muharram, known as Ashura.
