The International Festival of Quran and Hadith was held by the efforts of a representative branch of Al-Mustafa International University in Ivory Coast for the second year in a row with the participation of more than 240 Quran reciters and memorizers from more than 10 countries from West and North Africa.

Hawzah News Agency- The International Festival of Quran and Hadith started at the beginning of the holy month of Rajab, coinciding with the blessed decade of Fajr, in the office of the festival's secretariat, and started its planning by dividing the group of colleagues into three main sections: scientific working group, executive group and propagative working group.

Although it was decided at the beginning of the meetings that the second phase should be completed before the middle of the month of Sha'ban, due to several reasons, including new coordination for the participation of more countries and respected representatives of West Africa, finally the event was postponed to the end of the Decade of Keramat and on the eve of Imam Reza’s birthday anniversary.

The topics of the competition included interpretation, memorization, and recitation of the Holy Qur'an, as well as memorization of Nahj al-Balagha and Sahifa Sajjadieh.

In total, ten centers, seminaries, and schools from all over the country, especially the capital of the Ivory Coast, Abidjan, participated in this event in the three stages of the competition.

Contestants from the countries of the Ivory Coast, Mali, Burkina Faso, Ghana, Togo, Guinea Conakry, and Gambia participated in this Quranic competition.

At the end of the first and second stages, the final stage along with the closing session was held in a full half day for 5 hours in the Al-Ghadir complex affiliated with the resident Lebanese and with the diligent cooperation of the officials of this complex.

The winners of the final stage of the competition were Sou Muhammad Hadi from Ivory Coast, Decori Muhammad from Gambia, and Dawood Haider from Mali in the field of memorizing the entire Holy Quran, and Maryam Sir Nia, Sou Omar, and Hashim Jalou, all three from Ivory Coast in the section of Holy Quran tarteel.
