Hawzah News Agency- a specialized scientific meeting on the topic of "Comparative study of Contractarianism in family law in the Islamic Republic of Iran and France" by the Department of Comparative and International Studies of Iranian Parliament’s Research Center was held with a speech by Hujjat al-Islam Mohammad Reza Khalilzadeh and Dr. Mohammad Saeed Taheri Mousavi, researcher and university lecturer.

Hujjat al-Islam Khalilzadeh, one of the professors of the seminary and university, said,” Although in French law, freedom of will and freedom of contract have a history as old as Napoleon's code since the beginning of the 19th century, but marriage in the French family law system is very much subject to traditional style.”

Looking at the comparison between civil solidarity agreement and marriage contract in French society, he stated that the statistics of civil solidarity agreement is almost equal to marriage contract and the statistics of same-sex marriages in the form of civil solidarity agreement is about two percent.

Taheri Mousavi further noted,” In a comparison between divorce and marriage statistics in Iran and France, divorce rate is the same in Iran and France, with the difference that polygamy is much higher in Iran than in France.”
